Instructions for Completing the Mathematics Diagnostic Assessment

  (1)  Click on the blue highlighted link for the Arithmetic and Skills assignment.

  (2)  Log in to the system using the following credentials:

  1. Login – Originally issued JU username – (For example, "mnancar")
     
  2. Password – JU Student ID beginning with one zero – (For example, "0321123")

  (3)  Complete the Arithmetic and Skills Assignment. You will have 40 minutes to answer 32 questions.

  (4)  After you answer the last question on the assignment, click on the "Grade" button to view the results.

  (5)  Interpret the results of the assignment.

  1. If the system indicates that you did not "pass" the Arithmetic and Skills assignment, you have finished the mathematics placement assessment and may log off of the system.

After you have finished, log off the system. Results of the mathematics placement assessment will be discussed with you during your appointment with the Advising Center while registering for classes.

  1. If the system indicates that you have "passed" the Arithmetic and Skills assignment, complete the Basic Algebra assignment by repeating steps (1) through (4) for the Basic Algebra assignment. You will have 30 minutes to complete 25 questions.

After you have finished, log off the system. Results of the mathematics placement assessment will be discussed with you during your appointment with the Advising Center while registering for classes.
